For awhile I have been thinking of all the things I like to do, to see, and to be; today I wrote some of these things down, in no particular order – they stepped out of my head, down my arm into my hand which was holding the pen writing.
Yoga: something great happens with each downward dog, frog, bridge, headstand, and all the other poses I try. The greatest muscles being worked are my heart and my mind – I would be lost with myself if I didn’t have yoga.
Walking, running, and hiking: also so good for my mind as well as my body. The energy needed to perform any of them, and the energy it gives back. Being one with the outside elements, breathing in and out life.
Re-connecting with people: I have gone so long without many people in my life, but now I know I need them and hopefully they need me too! Finding my friends I let go many years ago and learning about them.
Railroad tracks and trains: the stability of the tracks as long, heavy trains roll by on them, the power of the trains engines to pull many filled cars behind, the beauty of each car as it passes. To be able to sit in my car and wait for trains to pass is peaceful to me, watching the engines pull the cars one by one to their destination, to hear the wheels and the tracks speak to each other with each turn of the wheel, to hear the train cut through the air.
Dogs, elephants, birds, okay – any animal big or small: what great creatures they all are, and for us to be fortunate to be in the world with them.
Sun rise and sun set: how else would waking up each morning be so gratifying knowing that the Earth is still moving and we are still breathing!
Water, carrot juice, coffee: my mornings would be quite boring without these, their flavor dancing in my mouth, their power rushing to my stomach and head! Yum!
Tea: what a great way to come back to my senses! There are so many great flavors of tea, I hope to try them all!
Again, these are only a few – so much in my life brings happiness to my mind and heart, I am just trying to keep this somewhat short.
